Experienced squad announced for Volta Catalunya

Almeida returns after Tirreno-Adriatico podium

UAE Team Emirates resume their World Tour calendar on Catalan roads with the Volta Catalunya from 20-26 March in the north-eastern province of Spain. The Belgian classics calendar also continues with the Classic Brugge De Panne on 24 March.

For Catalunya Joao Almeida spearheads the squad fresh from his second place podium at last weeks Tirreno-Adriatico in Italy. Local favourite Marc Soler and Adam Yates will also look to be on the offensive in the week long stage race.

Almeida : “I’m really looking forward to the race. It’s going to be a hard week as is typical at the Volta Catalunya, but I hope to be up there with the best guys.
Our team here is very strong so we have options, but our overall aim will be to fight for stages and the GC.”

The squad for Catalunya will be guided by Sports Directors Manuele Mori (Ita) and Tomas Gil (Col).
