Fabio Aru top 10 in Milano-Torino

Fabio Aru said before the start of the Piedmont classic Milano-Torino, a race he loves a lot, “I’m not sure how I’m going, but I have the desire to race and so I decided to change my plans for the end of season and race Milano-Torino and Il Lombardia, before closing 2018 with the Tour of Guangxi in China.”

And the desire of the Sardinian could be seen today on the Superga, climbed twice, where he fought with grit and brought home a good ninth place.

Aru finished 43 seconds behind winner Thibaut Pinot (Groupama-FDJ). At 10 second back, Miguel Angel López (Astana) placed second and new world champion Alejandro Valverde (Movistar) third.

The fireworks in the final included many of the stars launching their arsenals. One by one, they tired on the climb as the kilometres ticked by on this edition of Milano-Torino.
