Filippo Ganna 5th in time trial

Filippo Ganna fifth at ITT stage 6 of Tour of California

In the penultimate stage of Tour of California, a 24 km individual time trial around Gig Bear Lake, UAE Team Emirates’ rider Filippo Ganna got a good 5th rank. The Italian young talent rider crossed the finish line in 28’48”, 21” more than the winner Jon Dibben(Team Sky).

 

The second UAE Team Emirates rider best ranked was the Norwegian Vegard Stake Laengen, who got the 11th position, with a time of 28″ higher than the stage winner , moving to 6th overall ranking position  at 1’54” from the new GC leader George Bennett (LottoNL – Jumbo).

 

Filippo Ganna(photo Bettini): “I’m happy of my performance and I succeeded in obtaining a place in the top five. A big motivation that makes me face of my next challenges hard trainings. With just tomorrow’s final stage, we will focus instead on getting the best result possible for our GC rider Vegard.”
