Fisher-Black takes top-10 in Romandie

Young Kiwi sprints in selective finale

Finn Fisher-Black took a fine 7th place, his first World Tour top-10, today on stage 3 of the Tour de Romandie in Valbroye (165km).

The 20 year-old was tasked with protecting the leaders on the final climb which came -8km from the finished and when clear it would finish in a sprint made a dash for the line.

Fisher-Black: “We planned to attack with our leaders on the last climb but the pace was really hard from Ineos. I was at the front in the last kilometre and followed the wheels into the final and gave a decent sprint. It wasn’t the ideal scenario but we picked up what we could in the end.”

Juan Ayuso continues a based placed in the GC in 6th place behind race leader Rohan Dennis (Jumbo-Visma).
Tomorrow stage 4 will start in Aigle and finish in Zinal (Val d’Anniviers) (180.1km) in what will be a big day of climbing.
