Reshuffle after Luxembourg TT as Hirschi relinquishes yellow

Team heads into final day with cards to play

UAE Team Emirates will go into the final stage of the Tour de Luxembourg hungry for victory with three riders placed in the top-10 after the stage 4 individual time trial today.

 

 

Matteo Cattaneo (Deceuninck-Quickstep) was quickest around the 25.4km course starting and finishing in Dudelange with David De La Cruz the best of the Emirati squad 35’’ further down in 4th spot. Marc Hirschi would go 6th fastest at 49’’, moving him to 2nd place on GC behind Joao Almeida (Deceuninck-Quickstep) ahead of the final stage.

 

 

Stage 5 from Mersch to Luxembourg City (183.7km) will decide the overall standings with the UAE team keen to build on their strong run throughout the race.

 

 

Fabrizio Guidi (Sports Director) : “ We can be pleased with our performance here so far this week, the team is showing its strength with many guys up on the GC. Almeida has quite a big lead but we will try something for sure tomorrow and play our cards.”
