Teams Announced For Flanders Classics races

De Brabantse Pijl and Gent-Wevelgem begin cobbled campaign

After a successful run in the Ardennes, which culminated in a 3rd place podium finish at Liege-Bastogne-Liege for Tadej Pogačar, the team will now head to the north of Belgium to contest the Flemish classics : De Brabantse Pilj and Gent-Wevelgem.

 

 

On Wednesday 7th October the riders will line up for the 60th edition of De Brabantse Pijl which goes from Leuven to Overijse (197k) which will suit the punchy climbers like Sergio Henao and Aleksandr Riabushenko.

 

 

On Sunday 11th October Alexander Kristoff will lead the team at Gent-Wevelgem in defence of his victory from last year’s edition.

 
Allan Peiper (Aus) will lead the team for both races, while also being joined by Andrej Hauptman (Slo) and Simone Pedrazzini (Swi) for Gent-Wevelgem:

“Since the Tour I took a bit of a break and then started to build up again to the classics. Obviously the team came out of the Tour on the big high and we want to continue that into the next races. Brabantse Pijl will be a bit of a tester as it’s my first race back since the Tour and then I’ll go to Gent-Wevelgem and Flanders aiming for good results like last year.”
