An international UAE Team Emirates selection for the Tour of Slovenia

The Emirati team lines up athletes from 6 different nationalities

UAE Team Emirates is heading to Slovenia to compete in the Tour of Slovenia from June 13 to 17.
The 2018 edition of the race will feature five stages, one more compared to the traditional format, with two challenging fractions, two days for the sprinters and a conclusive individual time trial which will be held in Novo Mesto.

Sports directors Bruno Vicino (Italy) and Paolo Tiralongo (Italy) will manage the 7 riders, who come from no less than 6 different countries.
– Matteo Bono (Italy)
– Simone Consonni (Italy)
– Kristijan Durasek (Croatia)
– Vegard Stake Laengen (Norway)
– Yousif Mirza (United Arab Emirates)
– Przemyslaw Niemiec (Poland)
– Aleksandr Riabushenko (Belorussia)

The Tour of Slovenia has been renovated compared to past editions; we will have to be ready to interpret each individual stage day by day,” predicts Sports Director Bruno Vicino“We will be counting on a fast racer like Simone Consonni; he could get a couple of chances.  Durasek will be aiming to stand out in one of the more challenging fractions; the rest of the team should be reactive and take advantage of the opportunities to get in to any eventual interesting breaks.

Also on the starting grid we will see Yousif Mirza, Continental Asian and National Champion:  “I’m happy to be racing in Europe; it’s been a few weeks since my last race, the Tour of California, and I hope I can be directly useful to the team.
The Tour of Slovenia is an interesting competition; our formation is well balanced and we can aim for good results.”
