Jasper Philipsen on the podium in Elstedenronde

Third day of racing in Belgium for Jasper Philipsen, the young Belgian talent of UAE Emirates Team, who finished the weekend in third place in the sprint won by Tim Merlier (Corendon-Circus). Second place went to Fabio Jakobsen (Deceuninck-Quick Step).

“Today I have to thank the team for all the work they did” says Jasper Philipsen “they worked hard to pull the group along and then Troia and Ferrari delivered me perfectly for the sprint. I had good legs, but maybe I left it a bit too late to open the sprint. I’m satisfied with third place though. “

The race saw a group of six go away before eventually being brought back, with the last two survivors being reeled in the final circuit with just under 10 kilometers to go, where the sprint played out.
