Kristoff sixth in Sandefjord

The Norwegian from UAE Team Emirates retains lead in the points classification

The escapees who animated the 4th stage of the Tour of Norway (Arendal-Sandefjord, 224.4 km) had a day to remember as they out-foxed the peloton.
The win went to Italian Edoardo Affini (Mitchelton-Scott), the fastest in the dash to the line by the five remaining riders.

Alexander Kristoff (photo Bettini) led home the main group, which came home just seven seconds behind, retaining the points jersey in the process and building on his lead.

“The breakaway took a while to form, but when it did they made ground quickly – explained Director Sportif Simone Pedrazzini – Dimension Data, who are leading the race, initially took control. We joined in the chase and put guys on the front to work in the final but with the gap still at two minutes on the circuit it was impossible to recover the time.”

The 5th stage, 159.7 km from Skien to Drammen, will be another opportunity for Kristoff and the other sprinters.
