Kristoff 6th in Norway as De La Cruz top-10 in Vuelta

Alexander Kristoff capped off the fourth and final stage of the Tour of Norway in 6th position.

 

 

After the 156.5 km from Hinna Park to Stavanger, the final was once again decided by a sprint, in which Matthew Walls (BORA-hansgrohe) proved the quickest.

 

 

Sven Erik Bystrøm was also among the best of the day, finishing in 12th place in today’s stage and entering the final top 10 of the General Classification.

 

 
Alexander Kristoff:The team worked well today but, unfortunately, in the last meters, before the final sprint, I found myself a bit out of position which I paid for in the end.
In the past I had already won twice here and so I was hoping to do better than this sixth place.
I will try to make up for it at my next race in Germany. ”

In the 9th stage of the Vuelta a Espana, David De La Cruz finished in tenth position after 188km which culminated with the difficult arrival of Alto de Velefique.

 

 

UAE Team Emirates also saw Rafaj Majka among the protagonists who animated the escape in the first half of the day.

 

 

The stage victory went to Damiano Caruso (Bahrain – Victorious), with De La Cruz finishing in tenth place.

 

 

There was bad luck for Sebastian Molano who, victim of a fall, had to abandon the race, though without serious injury.

 

 

Tomorrow will be the first rest day, with the Spaniard of UAE Team Emirates 10th in the General Classification led again by Primoz Roglic (Team Jumbo-Visma).

 

 

De La Cruz: “It was a hard day as we expected it would be. It’s been 9 days of tough competition to close this first part of the Vuelta. I suffered a lot with about 6km to go today but I managed to recover and limit my losses. The form is there and I’ll look to the next weeks for opportunities. The atmosphere is great in the squad, although unfortunately we lost Molano today with the crash, but he looks okay and seems to be in good spirits.”
