Kristoff rounds out Provence with top-10

Norwegian building form ahead of Spring Classics

UAE Team Emirates ticked off their first stage race of the year with Alexander Kristoff coming home in 10th place on stage 4 at the Tour de la Provence (2.Pro).

 

The final stage from Avignon to Salon-de-Provence (163.2k) ended in a group sprint as the days breakaway was neutralised with 5km to go.

Kristoff finished to the fore in the sprint as the Norwegian continues to gather form ahead of the spring classics campaign in Belgium.

 

Stage 4 was won by German sprinter Phil Bauhaus (Bahrain) with Ivan Sosa (Ineos) taking the overall title.

 

Meanwhile in Clasica Almeria (1.Pro) Fernando Gaviria finished just off the pace in xx position while European Champion Giacomo Nizzolo (Qhubeka Assos) took the victory.

 

The team will now turn its focus to the next engagement – the Tour des Alpes Maritimes et du Var [2.1] which begins next Friday 19th.
