With a great second half of the year, pulling in numerous wins and placings, the Colombian Juan Sebastián Molano Benavides is shedding light on his staying power and capacity to reach high speeds. These qualities convinced the UAE Team Emirates staff to offer a two-year deal to Molano for the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

The 23-year-old born in Paipa won 13 times in 2018, including his recent victory in stage one of the Tour of Taihu Lake.
He also won the Pan-American championship road race, two stages and the classification in the Tour of China II, two stages in the Tour of Xingtai, two in the Vuelta al Valle, and three in the Vuelta a Colombia and the Clásica del Zarzal. He also pulled in several podium finishes riding with the Manzana Postbon team.

To be part of a team like UAE Team Emirates is a dream come true in my careerMolano said “To get to this point means that my hard work is paying off, and for that reason I feel calm and motivated, ready to give my best possible in the team. The year was intense. A crash in the Tour de Langkawi stopped me for two months, but I was able to recover well. Thanks to UAE Team Emirates for this opportunity, I know Matxin well and I’m sure that I’ll fit right in the team”.
