More medals for UAE Team Emirates in National Championships

As the weekend of national championship races come to a close, UAE had two more podium placings: Jan Polanc added to his runner-up spot in the Slovenian TT on Wednesday to take home a silver medal in the 172km road race in Koper.

Polanc went clear in the early stages of the 10-lap race along with teammate Tadej Pogačar in a five man group which included eventual winner Matej Mohoric (Bahrain-Victorious).

Polanc and Mohoric jumped clear with Pogačar arriving in the group behind in 5th place on the mostly flat circuit.

 
In the Portuguese Championships Rui Oliveira was second behind solo winner Jose Neves Fernandes (W52-Porto) on the 192km circuit around the city of Castelo Branco.

Oliveira was a closely marked man throughout the race and after many unsuccessful attacks he jumped clear with 2km to go in pursuit of lone leader Fernandes but ultimately had to settle for second spot.
