Mohoric is great also in the summit arrival

Seventh place for the UAE Team Emirates' rider in the queen stage

Matej Mohoric is one of the most competitive rider in the bunch during the last month of the season, he confirmed his condition in the queen stage of the Tour of Guangxi (4th stage, Nannig-Mashan Nongla Scenic Spot, 151 km) by obtaining the 7th place.

 

On the ascent to the finish line, the UAE Team Emirates’ rider succeeded in competing with the top climbers and he limited the gap from the winner, Wellens, at only 12″.
The Emirati team lost one of his members, Federico Zurlo, who crashed at 5″. He has been transferred to the nearest hospital for checks: he suffered no fractures, but contusions to left elbow, hip and wrist.

 

In the general classification, Mohoric is 6th, at 22″ to Wellens.

 

I focused my attention on the last climb and I tried to give my best, I could not do better than this and I feel this is a pretty good resultMohoric (photo) explained – The first 1500 meters of the ascent were demanding and just before the road became easier, Wellens, Mollema and Roche attacked: I tried to react on the plane but no other riders were with me and so Poels and Alaphilippe joined me and overtook me“.
