Marcato in the main breakaway, Rui 10th

Marcato and Rui Costa honoured for the UAE Team Emirates the queen stage of the Tour of Oman,  Sama’Il-Jabal Al Akhdhar di 152 km, with summit arrival on the Green Mountain climb, 6,3 km with average gradient of 8,8% and maximum 15%.

Italian rider (photo Bettini) led the race having attacked with other 5 cyclists (Lightart, Declercq, Schultz, Cartpenter, De Vos) and he was reached by the top climbers on the final climb.

Rui Costa managed to limit the gap from the big of the race at 49″, obtaining the 10th place.
When there’s only one stage to race, (Al Mouj Muscat-Matrah Corniche, 135,5 km, suitable for aprinters), the Portuguese athlete is 10th in the general classification, at 1’37” to the leader Lutsenko.
