Philipsen finishes a strong fifth in Belgium
Young Belgian champion leaves his mark at Dwars door Het Hageland
In the first of the three one-day races that will take place from today to Sunday in Belgium, the bright young hope of UAE Team Emirates, the Belgian Jasper Philipsen, takes fifth place.
Victory went to Kenneth Van Bilsen (Cofidis) who hung on by five seconds ahead of Niki Terpstra (Total Direct Energie) and Quinten Hermans (Telenet Fidea).
Next over the line was Loic Vliegen with Jesper Philipsen (photo Bettini) just behind him at nine seconds from the winner.
