Pogačar leads team in search of third triumph at Il Lombardia

Emirati squad primed for ‘race of the falling leaves’

UAE Team Emirates head into the last Monument of the year with Il Lombardia in Italy on Saturday 7th October. The team have all eyes on them as reigning champions of the past two editions in 2022 & 2021.

Pogačar will count on a strong team around him as he goes in search of a third title in Bergamo.
Pogačar : “It’s one of the five biggest one-day races of the calendar. It suits the climbers, so it suits me as well, and it’s the last race of the season normally for me. It’s a big race, a long race, tough climbs and you really need to be in good shape to finish well. I won on this parcours two years ago, so it suits me.”

The team will also be in action in France with Paris-Tours (Sunday 8th Oct) bringing the curtain down on the French calendar where Tim Wellens and Matteo Trentin will lead the squad.

UAE Team Emirates return once again to the Tour of Turkey (8-15 Oct) on Sunday also in search of victories as the race to be the #1 team in the UCI rankings heats up. Jay Vine leads the squads overall ambitions while Alvaro Hodeg will take aim at the sprints.
