Polanc claims 7th overall at Adriatica Ionica Race

Rui Oliveira 12th on run in to Trieste

The city of Trieste was the setting for the sprint that concluded the 2019 edition of the Adriatica Ionica Race.
In the rain, the Colombian Alvaro Hodeg (Deceuninck-Quick Step) won the sprint ahead of Edward Theuns (Trek-Segafredo) and Sacha Modolo (Ef), while for UAE Team Emirates, Rui Oliveira was first home in 12th place.

 

Jan Polanc (photo Bettini) was the best of the UAE lineup in the general classification, won by Mark Padun (Bahrain-Merida). The Slovenian finished in 7th place, 2’58 back on first position.

 

I can be happy with my performances during this race and finishing in the top 10 – commented Jan PolancThe racing days have been very useful for getting used to high-level training at altitude and now I will focus on the next events, starting with Clasica San Sebastian.
