Queen stage, Laengen 11th in Mt.Baldy

Norwegian rider takes 11th on summit finish.

125,5km long stage five of the Tour of California starting in Ontario brought riders along two first categorized clims before the summit arrival atop Mount Baldy.

Good performance by UAE Team Emirates’ rider Vegard Stake Laengen (photo archive Bettini) on the final ascent to take 11th place, just  56 seconds behind the stage winner Andrew Talansky (Cannondale-Drapac).

 

After the queen stage, Laengen stilla detains a place in the top ten of the general classification: he’s 10th at 1’50” to the leader Rafal Majka.

 

Vegard Stake Laengen:It has been once again a demanding day, my main target was to try to be with the top climbers on the final climb, I think I did it properly and I’m happy with a good 11th place in the stage. Moreover, I’m still in the top ten of the overall classification.
Tomorrow should be most suitable day for my skills, I’m looking forward for the Time Trial to be ridden on my Colnago K.one bike.”
