It isn’t easy for a Belgian rider born in Mol, the same birthplace of a cycling legend like Tom Boonen; but Jasper has always proven to have what it takes to make his mark in the world of cycling.
He played football until he was 12, when an injury derailed him towards cycling, even though no one else in his family had ever raced.
He joined UAE Team Emirates after having ridden for the American squad Hagens Berman Axeon, an experience he especially enjoyed since it gave him a chance to be immersed in an international atmosphere.
