Soler puts in brave attack at Itzulia Basque Country

Catalan rider up to 10th place in GC

Marc Soler finish 9th on stage 5 of the Itzulia Basque Country from Zamundio to Mallabia (163.1) on what was a brutally hard stage with over 3500m of climbing.

Rodriguez would hang on to win the stage, with Remco Evenepoel (Quick Step Alpha Vinyl) moving into the yellow jersey as race leader.

Soler now sits 10th overall at 1’30’’ behind Evenepoel heading into tomorrow’s hilly test from Eibar to Arrate (135.7km).
