Stage 2 in Australia: Ulissi 13rd in Stirling

Consonni is 8th in the general classification

The final part of the 2nd stage of the Tour Down Under, 148,6 km from Unley to Stirling, was mixed even if there were no hills on the course.

The sprint saw a mix of fast riders and stage hunters battling for the victory, which was obtained by Caleb Ewan (Mitchelton-Scott), who preceded Impey and McCarthy; 13th place for Diego Ulissi (photo Bettini): in Stirling, he had obtained in 2014 a victory and in 2016 a second place.

In the general classification, which is now led by Ewan, Consonni is 8th (+16”) and Ulissi is 11th (+16”).
