Tour de Suisse and Belgian races for UAE Team Emirates
Hirschi ready and motivated for home Tour
UAE Team Emirates will set their sights on the next challenges beginning in Switzerland with the
Grosser Preis des Kantons Aargau (10 June) followed by the Tour de Suisse (12-19 June).
Meanwhile in Belgium another block of riders will tackle two one-day races with the
Dwars door het Hageland (11 June) and the Elfstedenronde Brugge (12 June).
The 8-stages of Tour de Suisse will tackle typical Swiss hilly terrain with UAE with plenty of capable winners in their ranks, among them Marc Hirschi.
Hirschi: “ I’m really excited for the Tour de Suisse, it’s always nice to be racing on home soil and see familiar faces on the roadsides. My last race was Romandie and since then training has gone well and I’m feeling good.
The first goal will be to aim for stage victories, and besides myself I think we have a number of guys in the team who can do that. I think for the GC we will have to see how the race unfolds but the main aim will be to grab a win.”
The team in Switzerland will be led by Team Manager Joxean Matxin Fernandez (Spa) alongside Sports Directors Fabrizio Guidi (Ita) and Simone Pedrazzini (Swi) while Aart Vierhouten (Ned) will take charge in Belgium.
