UAE Team Emirates set for Criterium Du Dauphiné

Last showdown in French Alps for GC riders before Tour de France

UAE Team Emirates will hope to fine-tune their form this week at the Criterium Du Dauphiné (WT) which takes place in France from 12-16 August.

The route for 2020 is one designed for the mountain goats with all five stages designed for the climbers and the absence of a time trial.

Tadej Pogačar will make his return to stage racing in what is seen as the traditional build-up race for the Tour de France. With the Tour on the horizon the team will hope to build strongly towards the Grand Depart in Nice on 29th August.

-Davide Formolo (Ita)
-Jan Polanc (Slo)
-Tadej Pogačar (Slo)
-Vegard Stake Laengen (Nor)
-David De La Cruz (Spa)
-Sven Erik Bystrom (Nor)
-Alexander Kristoff ( Nor)

Pogačar : “I’m coming into the Dauphine with some good race miles after my first time at Strade Bianche and Milan – San Remo. Both races were really unique and an amazing experience. I was happy with my condition also. Some of the stages here at the Dauphiné could suit me, but the principal aim is building up for the Tour de France. Formolo is also really going well at the moment so we will try to do something between us here.”

The team will be guided by a group of three Sports Directors including Allan Peiper (Aus) , Andrej Hauptman (Slo) and John Wakefield (RSA).
