Benoît Cosnefroy joins UAE Team Emirates-XRG on two-year deal
Frenchman to link up with his new teammates at the squad's Abu Dhabi camp, bringing with him a proven record of one-day success
UAE Team Emirates–XRG is pleased to announce the signing of Benoît Cosnefroy on a two-year contract, which will see the French rider join the team from Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale at the start of the 2026 season.
The 30-year-old from Normandy brings a wealth of experience and a proven record in the one-day Classics, having claimed victories at the Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec, the Bretagne Classic, and multiple podiums in the Ardennes Week races.
Renowned for his punchy acceleration and tactical awareness, Cosnefroy will strengthen UAE Team Emirates-XRG’s already formidable lineup for hilly one-day races.
Benoît Cosnefroy: “I’m very happy at the prospect of joining UAE Team Emirates–XRG, and very excited to become part of the best team in the world.
“When Mauro Gianetti explained the project to me I saw it as the right challenge for me at this point in my career. From speaking with the team and the ambitions they have, it became clear that it could be a good fit and the right step to take.
“I’m eager to begin this new chapter and can’t wait to start racing with my new teammates.”
Cosnefroy will join the team’s pre-season get-together in Abu Dhabi as UAE Team Emirates-XRG begins preparations for the 2026 campaign.
