Del Toro takes top-5 in Switzerland

Mexican talent 4th at GP des Kantons Aargau

Isaac Del Toro showed good form heading into Tour de Suisse with 4th place in a reduced sprint at the GP des Kantons Aargau.

UAE Team Emirates were protagonists in the closing circuits around Leuggern(173.8km) with Jan Christen and Marc Hirschi very much involved in the action on home roads.

The groups would come back together in the closing 3km with Del Toro saving his legs for the final rise to the line in a sprint won by the Belgian Maxim Van Gils (Lotto Dstny).

Del Toro: “I’m happy to be back racing again after one month without competition . It’s the first day of racing in the real heat since January in Australia which I think we all felt a bit in the peloton. We have a very strong team here and we went on the attack throughout the race. In the final sprint I gave it all but just fell short of the podium. I’m looking forward now to Tour de Suisse where I’m going with good condition.”
