McNulty and Vermeersch commit futures to UAE Team Emirates-XRG
American and Belgian extend long-term deals with the Emirati squad
UAE Team Emirates-XRG are delighted to announce the contract renewals of Brandon McNulty and Florian Vermeersch, with both riders committing their futures to the team on long-term agreements.
Vermeersch, the Belgian classics specialist joined the Emirati setup in 2024 and has since developed into a key figure in the team’s cobbled classics group and stage racing team, with a string of strong performances across the northern calendar. Among his standout results since joining the team are his World Champion Gravel title, his multiple top-10 finishes in World Tour one-day races, and most recently an impressive third place at the E3 Saxo Classic, underlining his progression among the elite riders on the cobbles. His new deal will run until the end of 2029.
Vermeersch’s strength, resilience, and aggressive racing style have made him a valuable asset in the in both the classics and stage races, while his ability to perform in the toughest conditions has marked him out as one of the next emerging talents. His contract extension reflects both his commitment to the team and UAE Team Emirates-XRG’s confidence in his continued development and long-term potential.
Florian Vermeersch:
“I’m really happy to continue with UAE Team Emirates-XRG for the coming years. Since joining the team, I’ve felt a lot of trust and support, which has allowed me to grow as a rider and take steps forward. We’ve already had some great results together, but I believe there is still a lot more to achieve both for me personally and for the team. Extending until 2029 gives me the stability to keep improving and chasing big goals. It feels like a special group of people here and I’m happy to be staying.”
McNulty, now a veteran of the team, joined the Emirati setup in 2020 and has since become a key pillar of the squad across stage races and Grand Tours, amassing 20 professional victories in that time. Known for his strength against the clock and versatility in the mountains, McNulty has delivered a series of standout performances – including stage victories at the Giro D’Italia and Vuelta España, strong results in week-long stage races, and a memorable victory at the 2025 GP Montreal.
McNulty’s consistency, work ethic, and ability to perform both as a leader and a crucial support rider have made him an invaluable asset within UAE Team Emirates-XRG and a testament to the teams philosophy of nurturing young talent. His latest contract will see him with the Emirati outfit until the end of 2030.
Brandon McNulty:
