Pogačar & Trentin take results in Italy & Belgium

Double top-5 for Emirati pair

UAE Team Emirates took two 4th places with Tadej Pogačar in Tre Valli Varesine and Matteo Trentin at Binche-Chimay-Binche.

Ilan Van Wilder (Soudal Quickstep) clipped away for a solo victory on the last lap in Varese as a reduced bunch fought it out for the victory with Pogačar to the fore of the group behind at Tre Valli Varese.

Attention will now turn to the final monument of the year, Il Lombardia on Saturday where Pogačar will aim to defend his crown.

Pogačar:Today was a pretty good race overall. There was a lot of attacking and it was a hard race. We tried to keep it together in the end for a sprint but the other guys had other ideas and there was plenty of attacking . I’m happy with the legs and sensations are good looking ahead to Saturday in Lombardia.”

Meanwhile in Belgium Matteo Trentin was just off the podium in a reduced sprint against Luca Mozzato (Arkea-Samsic) who took victory in the Binche-Chimay-Binche also known as the Frank Vandenbroucke.
