The line-up for the Hammer Series in Limburg

UAE Team Emirates will showcase their talented athletes in the debut leg of the Hammer Series, which will take place in Limburg in June from the 2nd to the 5th: Ganna, Troia and Zurlo will be the key elements in a line-up of 7 riders which will include also sprinters as Guardini and Kump, the rouleur Laengen and the UAE champion and national cycling star Yousif Mirza.
In each of the three days of the race (Friday 2nd, Hammer Climb race; Saturday 3rd, Hammer Sprint race; Sunday 4th, Hammer Chase race), 5 riders will be in competition for each team.
Filippo Ganna (gold medal in individual pursuit ad the WC London 2016; silver medal in the individual pursuit at the WC Hong Kong 2017; Italian champion in the TT 2016 Under 23): “When the Hammer Series were launched, I immediately thought that they were a very interesting news for cycling.
I‘m happy to have the opportunity to participate in the debut of the Hammer Series, we‘ll be all part of something which will made the history of cycling and I really hope this formula will soon become appreciated by many.
I race often on track and it will be interesting to evaluate how some peculiar elements of the track races will be mixed with the road races characteristics”.
Sports director Vicino: “We‘d like that the Hammer Series Limburg leg could be for UAE Team Emirates a good opportunity for showing to the cycling world the qualities of our youn guns, who already demonstrated in the first part of the season to be ready for achieving important results.
Ganna, Zurlo, Troia will be the fresh elements of a very fast team.
Being aware of the important role of the final team time trial, we‘ll selected Laengen, who‘ll form with Ganna our top quality duo of time trialists”.
