UAE Team Emirates begin European campaign in Valenciana & Mallorca
McNulty opens his season in Mallorca
After a flying start to the season in Australia at the Tour Down Under where Isaac Del Toro took the team’s first win of the year, UAE Team Emirates will open their European racing campaign in Spain this weekend. The opening races will be the Classica Valenciana (20 Jan) and the GP Castellón (21 Jan).
The racing continues in the Balearic Islands with the four race series making up the Challenge Mallorca (24-28 Jan). The team heads there with former winners in it’s ranks including Mark Soler and Brandon McNulty.
McNulty : “It’s been a good off-season but I think we’re all prepared and ready to get racing again now. My track record in Mallorca is pretty solid and it’s a good place to start the season and test the form. We have a strong team assembled for it with a few different options for different terrains so we’re excited to get things started. Watching what the team is achieving over in Australia is really motivating too so we want to continue that.”
The teams will be led by Sports Manager Matxin Fernandez (Spa) with Sports Director Tomas Gil (Ven) in support and Simone Pedrazzini (Swi) joining for the Mallorcan races.
