UAE Team Emirates names squad for Tour de Suisse

With the Tour de France less than a month away, UAE Team Emirates will set their sights on Switzerland this week as the team embarks on a block of racing which takes in the one-day classic Grosser Preis des Kantons Aargau [1.1] on June 4, followed by the prestigious Tour de Suisse (UWT) which runs from 6-13 June.

The team will aim to build on its strong track record at Grosser Preis des Kantons Aargau, with the Emirati squad having won the race every year since 2017.

The team follows with Tour de Suisse where they will look to home favourite Marc Hirschi and the experience of Rui Costa, a three time former winner of the race.

Sports Directors Fabrizio Guidi (Ita) and Simone Pedrazzini (Swi) will lead the team for Grosser Preis des Kantons Aargau, while Rubens Bertogliati (Swi) will join the squad for the Tour de Suisse.

Hirschi: “It’s exciting to be coming back to the Tour de Suisse. It’s a race we missed last year since it was cancelled so to have it back on the calendar again is great news. Before coming here I’ve been at Sestriere with the team training at altitude. I’m feeling good and it’s always special and a privilege to be racing on home roads. We have a strong team with lots of options so we’ll aim for success.”
