Ulissi is good 10th on the Mur de Huy

UAE Team Emirates' Italian rider realized a good performance in the race won by Valverde

The race, 200,5 km with start from Binche was decided, as usual, on the last passage on the steep wall, the Mur de Huy, that brought the riders at the finish-line. The finale was animated by an attack from Bob Jungels (Quick-Step) who tried a solo action, but the teams set a fast pace in the last km to lead-out their leaders and take in the front positions the final 1 km, and caught back him. Diego Ulissi (photo Bettini), always in the first positions moved well and got a good 10th place.

Today I had good feeling even if it was a cold day” said Diego after the race “In the finale the team did a good job bringing me in the best position possible to take the final “wall”. In the last 250 metres I was in front but riders more powerful than me came out. Anyway, I got tenth place and it gives me a good morale for the Liege-Bastogne-Liege on Sunday, where I hope to give a great satisfaction to all the fans”.

Also sport director Marco Marzano is quite satisfied: “The goal was the top ten with Ulissi and Rui Costa and we got it with Diego. I happy, above all, about the team work and I’m confident for a good Liege”.
