Ulissi is the best rider in the TT for the Emirati team
Italian rider is 23rd in the stage classification
In the 4th stage of the Paris-Nice, the riders faced the early real steephill of the French race.
The course of the individual time trial, 14,5 km, after a flat first sector of 11,5 km, was characterized by a final climb of 3 km with average degree of 7,7% and a pinnacle of 9,5% in the final kilometer.
Despite the rain which had made the road wet, Ulissi realized a competitive performance.
Riding his Colnago K Zero, the Italian cyclist from UAE Team Emirates covered the course in 22’55”, which was the best performance for the Emirati team.
The Tuscan rider was 23rd in the stage classification, at 1’14” to the timing of the winner and new leader of the general classification Alaphilippe.
Swift is the first UAE Team Emirates’ cyclist in the general classification: 53rd at 18’53”.
“Diego faced wet roads, which influenced his performance, while the riders who raced later rode on a dry ground – sports director Mario Scirea explained – Ulissi’s performance was good especially in the final sector of the stage: if he’ll be able to have the same feelings on the climbs of the next stages, we’ll be able to improve the our performances level in the French race“.
