Yates leads mighty squad on home soil at UAE Tour

Molano aims for repeat sprint success as Yates eyes GC

UAE Team Emirates have named the seven riders to take on their home race, the UAE Tour, which gets underway next week (19-25 Feb).

Adam Yates who lifted the race title in 2020, will aim to regain his crown when the race finishes atop Jebel Hafeet on Stage 5. The British rider comes into the race with excellent form, having won the Tour of Oman last week with an impressive solo victory on the Queen stage. Yates will be well accompanied for the climbs with Jay Vine and Brandon McNulty reinforcing the mountain block.

The team will look to sprinter Sebastian Molano and his trusted leadout man Ivo Oliveira in the sprint stages. The Colombian speedster will be aiming to repeat his memorable victory from 2023 where is clinched victory on stage 4 to Dubai.

Yates: “The UAE Tour is our home race so we know the the spotlight will be on us. We spend a lot of time here and we wan’t to put on a good show for our sponsors and the people of UAE. Personally it’s a race I know very well at this point. I’ve done well here in the past and we aim to do the same this time around.

Oman was a good tester and obviously we came away with a nice victory there. The goal in UAE will be wins, we have a team strong enough to take victories so that’s what we’ll be aiming for and hope to do everyone proud in the UAE. ”

The team will be led by Sports Manager Matxin Fernandez (Spa) and Sports Directors Andrej Hauptman (Slo) and Marco Marzano (Ita).
