Zurlo spent the whole day in the main brekaway
The attack was neutralized in the approach of the arrival
Federico Zurlo was the main protagonist for UAE Team Emirates in the 2nd and last stage of the Giro della Toscana, 165,1 km from Lajatico to Volterra.
The young cyclist from the Emirati team (photo Bettini) went clear from the peloton in the first part of the course together with other 7 riders and they had a maximum advantage of 4′.
At 10 km to the arrival, Bono and other counter-attackers joined the leading group and Guillaume Martin succeeded in completing a solo attack in the last kilometers, while Zurlo and Bono were joined by the peloton.
Thanks to the stage victory, Martin obtained also the succees in the general classification.
