Double top-10 for UAE Team Emirates in Algarve

UAE Team Emirates registered a double top-10 result on stage 3 of the Volta so Algarve from Faro to Tavira (203.1km) which concluded in a bunch gallop.

With team leader Rui Costa out of the picture due to a crash on stage 2, it was up to the rest of the team to hunt out a result with the fast men putting up the challenge to stage winner Sam Bennett (Deceuninck-Quickstep) .

Rui Oliveira forced his way to the front of the bunch as it entered the final kilometre, hooking himself on to the sprinters trains and holding on for a 8th place finish.

Stage 4 will be a test against the clock with an individual TT of 20.3km at Lagoa, where Portuguese time trial champion Ivo Oliveira will aim to be in the mix.
