Rui Costa and Riabushenko Top Ten in Spain

Former world champion just short of the podium on first stage of the Vuelta a Burgos; Riabushenko is tenth.

 

On what was a lumpy first stage of the Vuelta a Burgos, from Burgos to Mirador del Castillo de Burgos over 162 kilometers, Rui Costa finished in fourth position, with the young Belarusian of UAE Team Emirates Aleksandr Riabushenko is tenth place.
Victory went to the Italian Giacomo Nizzolo (Dimension Data) who narrowly edged out Alex Aranburu (Caja Rural) in a photo finish with third place for the Romanian Michael Grosu (Delko Marseille).

 

Tomorrow’s stage 2 will take the riders from Gumiel de Izàn to Lerma over a distance of 155 kilometers.
