Kristoff closes out Tour of Wallonie with top-10

Norwegian 7th on stage 5

After some aggressive racing shown by his teammates, Alexander Kristoff finished at the head of the peloton to take 7th on stage 5 of the Tour de Wallonie (2.Pro) in Belgium today.

Rui Oliveira was notably active during the 192.4km from Dinant to Quaregnon, the Portuguese rider reacting to the many attacks which came in the closing stages.

As the group merged together for the final sprint it was Alessandro Covi who fought his way to the front with Kristoff in his wheel, dropping the Norwegian off on the wheel of the Deceuninck-Quickstep lead-out train.

Fabio Jakobsen (Deceuninck-Quickstep) forged a huge gap in the closing metres taking a comfortable victory with Kristoff back in 7th spot.
