Polanc 11th in the 100th Giro d’Italia

Slovenian rider defends his place in the final individual time trial

Mission accomplished: Jan Polanc (photo Bettini) defended his 11th place in the General Classification in the final stage of the 100th Giro d’Italia.
In the final standing, the king of the Etna stage has a gap from the winner Tom Dumoulin of 18’06”.
Slovenian rider came 4th in the youth classification with teammate Simone Petilli in sixth.

 

Van Emden had a strong individual time trial, 29,3 km from Monza (Autodromo Nazionale) to Milan, finishing the stage in 33’08”, 15″ quicker than the second place which was taken by Dumoulin.
Rui Costa was the fastest rider from UAE Team Emirates, finishing 42nd (+2’15”).

 

UAE Team Emirates, the first Emirati team ever to participate in the Giro d’Italia, obtained the 2nd place in the final teams points classification.
