Ayuso leads squad for Itzulia Basque Country

UAE Team Emirates will set sights on their next objective with the Itzulia Basque Country in Spain from 1-6 April.

The team packs a squad filled with climbing talent in what is traditionally deemed as being one of the hardest races on the World Tour calendar.

Prior to ‘La Itzulia’ the team will take-on the one-day classic nearby in Navarra with the GP Miguel Indurain on 30 March.

Ayuso:  “This will be my very first Itzulia and I’m pretty excited to be racing there. It’s a big race with a lot of history and one I’ve wanted to do since I was a kid. The passion for cycling in the Basque Country is amazing and something us riders really feed off of.

 
I had a good block of training in Andorra and feel like I’m coming into the race in good shape. The team is very strong with a strong climbing focus and we will be aiming for some big results.”
