Ayuso leads squad for Itzulia Basque Country

GP Indurain serves as weekend tester

UAE Team Emirates will set sights on their next objective with the Itzulia Basque Country in Spain from 1-6 April.

The team packs a squad filled with climbing talent in what is traditionally deemed as being one of the hardest races on the World Tour calendar.

Prior to ‘La Itzulia’ the team will take-on the one-day classic nearby in Navarra with the GP Miguel Indurain on 30 March.

Ayuso:  “This will be my very first Itzulia and I’m pretty excited to be racing there. It’s a big race with a lot of history and one I’ve wanted to do since I was a kid. The passion for cycling in the Basque Country is amazing and something us riders really feed off of.

I had a good block of training in Andorra and feel like I’m coming into the race in good shape. The team is very strong with a strong climbing focus and we will be aiming for some big results.
