Oliveira and Gibbons to the fore in Algarve TT

UAE Team Emirates had two riders in the top-10 for the second consecutive day on the Individual Time Trial on stage 4 of the Volta ao Algarve in Lagoa (20.4km).

Kasper Asgreen (Deceuninck-Quickstep) was the fastest man on the day, completely the course in 23’52’’ with an average speed of 51.03kmph.

Portuguese national TT champion Ivo Oliveira was fastest home for the Emirati squad, 37’’ behind the time of Asgreen, with Ryan Gibbons 52’’ down in 7th place.

A hilly Stage 5 tomorrow from Albufeira to Malhão (170.1km) will decide the overall race with Ethan Hayter (Ineos-Grenadiers) currently leading.
